So I wanted an easy to track campaign that I could just chuck together. Project Requirements
Portability.
Variety of Theatres.
Quick set-up.
Ability to “Save Point” the game.
Progress easy to track.
No calculations.
I randomised Missions & Objectives, but wanted more than just a list to track successes and failures.
Each Mission & Objective combo was given a location.
To speed setup, all skills, equipment, traits were merged into “one” card with all calculations done.
Southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit’s forces have dispersed making movement hazardous.
Agricultural Zone: It’s quiet right up until it’s not. Encounter one RPG armed soldier, wounded, taken for questioning, after giving up local Stronghold died of his injuries.
Stronghold: Heavy Military Presence. Intel gathered, MG Cart encountered on leaving area, Flanking Attack and Double Tap followed by weapon inspection and Reload.
RPG Soldier
Rough Climb: Climbing rock face north of the Stronghold reveals RPG Nest harbouring 3 enemies. A practised fast draw from Tactical Holster, followed by Flanking Attack, Stealth Kill & Double tap takes care of all three.
River Crossing: Dropping to River on other side of the ridge I panic two Gunners. Nothing fancy just two clean shots deals with them. Open Desert: The slope levels to reveal a 3-man squad running. A quick Reload, then two Snap Shots and a Double Tap take care of them. IED spotted on track leading to Grassy Field. Grassy Field: A Relaxed Guard quickly dispatched. Another Reload before I enter the village on far side of field. Rural Housing: Objective is in sight.
While hiding on edge of village 2 enemy try to sneak up. A fast draw and head shot killing one seems to impress the other as he flees.
Ahead is last Threats to be Eliminated.
Two HMG Nests. Two Trained Gunners.
A 160th SOAR Little Bird takes care of one HMG. A Stealth Attack and Double Tap takes out the other. Caution helped negate would could have been a nasty wound. Luckily this looks like the last of the enemy force, as no reinforcements arrive.
My luck runs out as I need to reload twice before I can get a magazine which is dirt free. The enemy rush my position (I guess they believed me to be out of ammo). I take one at the very close range and a Point Blank shot to down the last off them.
So, one of the issues with 6 people playing 3 games of Warfighter at once is space.
Having enough cards to go around was easily sorted by buying 2 Core, 2 Footlocker expansions and 1 of each other expansion. [Although more location cards would have helped].With the imminent delivery of Wave 3 we should be able to expand our next campaign without much bother.
Shallow card trays were hard to find, however these bamboo memo blocks from Wilkos although slightly too large, at £2 each they are ideal.
Deep enough to hold all decks but easy access and the gap at the back is big enough to hold the used and discarded cards.
Smaller blank cards hold the locations #.
Tokens are held in one of these craft tubes which are easily accessed.
Side Street
Well this got bloody, quickly. Engaged by Militants with RPG (x2) and LMG Support before we got halfway down the supposed quiet side street.I take out the Militants & RPG Team 1, centre mass and one in the head.
Anderson takes the other RPG Team and LMG, he’s not into the Double Tap more of a keep shooting till they stop moving approach. Smith has already taken up an overwatch position and takes out the Suicide Bomber coming from a house behind us.
Ruins We take a sharp right to an area of bombed out stores. Resistance is slightly less through the rubble. Some local Jihadis / Gunmen and a nicely embedded HMG. A couple of shots take care of the Fanatics, Smith takes one of the Gunmen while Anderson turns his LMG barrel red, succeeding in missing the HMG team but suppressing them anyway.
Catwalk We kick down a make shift cupboard door allowing access onto a narrow raised catwalk. Things are getting tricky, we’re pinned down by more Militants and Insurgent and a Suicide Bomber who keeps on coming, no matter what I throw at him.We are having to split fire between the Ruins behind us and the enemy in front.
Ruins Catwalk I’m suppressed in Ruins, luckily Anderson comes to my rescue and takes out the Bomber – even above the gunfire I can hear him shouting “It’s a Bomber, It’s a Bomber”.
Ruins Catwalk Alley The shit has really hit the fan. We are engaged by 4 groups of Militants, an Armed Mob is heading down the Alley, Gunmen are firing from the rooftops, Insurgents are coming from the houses and I can see a Technical behind the Armed Mob. Smith is Suppressed and Anderson is close to letting the red mist fall.
I need to do something to give us a window unfortunately it seems I can’t hit my arse with a banjo. Luckily Anderson is back with us and accounts for most of the Insurgents giving me the chance to get my shit together and I take the last. We all concentrate on the Gunmen and again Anderson covers himself in glory.I just finish thinking we are lucky that no more forces are appearing when a 2.5 tonne truck arrives at the end of the Alley. Smith snaps off a round taking the Technical driver. Time to make like a shepherd.
Side Street We move quickly we can’t afford to be held up again the target with get away.
2 Stalkers step out behind us 2 clean shots take care of them, we are starting to get out formation back. Militants, Gunmen and an LMG nest are our next obstruction.
Anderson takes the LMG nest Smith takes other targets Anderson is out of ammo while I’m down to my last magazine. Anderson signals a Leader down the side street I take my final shot and the Leader goes down. Now that’s 2 of us out of ammo.
And just then Air Support strafes the area while kicking supplies to our feet.
Stronghold Fully armed again we push forward hard. Enemy sniper is heads down thanks to Smith Anderson is keeping the Mobs heads down while I flank them. As I take the shot I see Anderson hit the deck.
Caliphate Command Vehicle in sight.
Smith takes a round as I unsnap the LAW. The shot is good and the vehicle is vaporised– Mission Complete
Anderson is going to be out of action for 3 weeks. Smith 1 week.

Mission In & Out : Objective VIP Elimination
Gentlemen your target for this mission is Head of the Military Council: Iyad al-Ubaydi, aliases: Fadel Hayfa, Abu Saleh al-Ubaydi, and Abu Saleh al-Hayfa. al-Ubaydi in his fifties and a former officer in Saddam Husayn’s military. After the regime fell, al-Ubaydi joined Kataib Thawrat al-Ishreen (The 1920s Revolution Brigade) in May 2003.
Al-Ubaydi was imprisoned by the Americans in Camp Bucca in 2006; when he was released is unclear. It was in prison that al-Ubaydi was converted to jihadism. Al-Ubaydi took over the amniyat or intelligence file after Adnan al-Suwaydawi was killed and later was promoted to run the military
In & Out
We drive to XXX and are stopped outside the walled city by a Technical carrying four Gunmen.I open up with the 249 and kill the Technical driver 2 shots from Smith and One from Baynes .50 cal eliminates the Gunmen.
We make our way through some low level Ruins. Baynes hanging back as the Barrett is a bit unwieldy at close quarters. Movement up ahead, we haven’t been spotted, as I close for a quiet kill Baynes takes out a Sniper to our left. My quarry suddenly bursts from cover and pretty much runs onto my knife. I take the Radioman’s radio – you never know
Catwalk Baynes & Smith take advantage of the high ground. While I walk auto fire towards the Insurgents. Firing from range suppressing them then closing to kill
Baynes and Smith are covering from an elevated position. 2 Ranger Squads are moving forward and suddenly we are amongst it.
I take a knee behind cover and open up on the enemy. I can see a tribal leader but he’s well screened by his followers. Then suddenly he isn’t as Baynes looses 2 rounds from dropping 2 bodies. Sounding like a puppy in comparison to Baynes M82’s bark, Smith’s M40A2 takes down the Leader and luckily, the Suicide Bomber rushing towards us. for my part I take out the opfors LMG. The RPG Team fail to get a round away and are punished by I put a burst into the loader and Baynes relieves the other of his head.
Alley The mission takes on a weird turn. At the far end of the alley two gunmen appear flanking our target. Not one to have to be asked twice Smith drops the Gunmen while Baynes takes the HVT.
Philips PS Mission Covert : Objective Bugging Out
Insertion Point will be North West Outskirts of Karimabad Village. 36°19’42.3″N 74°39’04.2″E
Comms lost with Team Layforce.
We have pinpointed their location via Becker MR510 PLB. Radio chatter indicates they will be moved to another location tomorrow. So it’s an easy one, get in, get them, get out. QRF is on station, radio for exfil when ready. Support and Medevac will be waiting,
Coming in low, snug in my “Whistling Chicken Leg” just me and Vera
Westland Gazelle AH.1
Covert approach went “really well”. As the skids hit the deck I’m fucking ambushed before I could get near the village, hitting the deck I open up killing all three enemy.
The Village
Karimabad Village Neelum Valley Kashmir
Can’t afford to take too long finding the lads but don’t want to go charging about either.
Luckily there is just one guy hanging about, looks like a Village Elder. Quick burst and he’s down.
The Village Can’t see any sign of the lads, but can see some Hired Muscle mingling with locals
They come towards me but I don’t think I’ve been spotted – I drop back away from the village into deeper cover
I manage to Break Contact with Muscle and narrowly miss taking rounds from a Technical as it slides into the Village. A Drug Runner falls from the back firing into the air
The Ravine I can see the lads being lead to the enemy transports, not much time to engage
Pete Taylor PS Vet Gordon Smith NPS Robert “Bobby” Moore Squad Mission Rural Drop Zone : Objective ICBM Insertion Point will be Magdagachinsky District, Amur Oblast
We have reports the Federation is to move an ICBM along P297. Our job is to find it and disable it. We won’t be the only team hunting it so ground support may be available.
15 Isolated Factory
We approached a large abandoned factory, hoping to take advantage of the cover it afforded. As usual Intelligence was out of date and we arrive to find a 6 man patrol already in position.
We engaged quickly, taking out two men each, a Sentry emerged from the Security Office, opened fire but misses all of us, and I hit him with two rounds, the first absorbed by his body armour the second put him down.
14 Housing Complex
Crossing the streets we encounter a military transport (possibly from the 8 man patrol). Smith informs me it is a Gaz – 33097 belonging to the 27th Independent Guards Motor Rifle Brigade. Nerd!
He then proceeds to hammer a bunch of rounds into the canvas cover, Moore comes to his aid and puts rounds through the driver and Hvy Machine Gunner sitting a top the cab (he’s obviously Russian or a Geordie PMC)
We must have missed someone across at the factory because we started taking fire from an Infiltrator Unit and a Security Patrol. The Infiltrator is Suppressed and the Patrol eliminated.
12 Farmland
Coming out the otherside of the town we can see the Highway in the distance across cultivated fields. The going is boggy and it takes us longer than anticipated to get across. About halfway across we find a small shack and take a breather.
09 Busy Highway
Taking up our position to recon the Highway traffic we see a four man Perimeter Security Team (PERSEC) a two man Security Patrol (SECPAT) and a three man Security Detachment (SECDET).
I take one out man with my Suppressed Glock hoping to keep this contained.
Smith however has different ideas and plasters the whole area with 40mm grenades. Suppressing one team and killing another, the SECDET fire back without effect, it is at this point I take a minor wound from the PERSEC unit.
I quickly bandaged my lower arm and we pushed forward clearing the stragglers. Trying to conserve ammo I draw my Glock. The round tings off the Patrolmans flask, and the Glock jams forcing me back to my SCAR firing three shots I force two to seek cover while killing the third
Back at the housing complex Moore is still dealing with an Infilitrator Unit and SECPAT. Three shots take out last of the Patrolmen and the Infiltrator and he double times to our position. In the Farmland Smith breaks from cover and dashes across highway taking out the PERSEC as he goes. Hostile SECDET is completely suppressed
08 Hidden Cache
Moore suddenly starts grinning and shouting “ICBM, I See Big Missile” Dick!
We spot the ICBM coming along highway. Word comes through there is an Apache on station, but at the time I didn’t think we’d need it
Smith clears the stragglers from the Highway as Moore catches up and I take an Overwatch position on the launcher.
A PERSEC team engage Moore and Smith takes a wound to the chest.
Target Launcher in forecourt of Strategic Missile Force Area Command
07 ICBM
No time to aid Smith, time was running low and we needed to assault our mission objective. Smith returns fire on PERSEC position, laying down suppressive fire before moving on the launcher.
Moore, two pin point shots take the PERSEC team and allow him to get eyes on the far side of the launcher.
At this point with Smith and myself wounded I decide to request air support to take out ICBM rather than risk further enemy engagement.
AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat
As I’m requesting air assault to engage the ICBM.
Three things happened, we hear a heavy engine roar into life, Bobby appears running towards us as if chased by the legions of hell itself and a T-72 SIM-1 emerges from behind ICBM. Shit!
06 ICBM
The AAC air support is on the ball and my request to change target priority to the T-72 has an immediate effect, our Lynx Wildcat shrieks by and the T72 is toast.
Moore sorts himself out and attaches charges to the ICBM. Leaving the burning hulk of the T72 and the disabled ICBM we head for our extraction point. Behind us we seem to have stirred up a hornets nest. Moore and Smith takes out the two Sentries barring our way.
05 Extraction Point
Behind us appear RPG armed soldiers and an Infiltrator.
I fire at both forcing them to take cover. The Infiltrator puts another two rounds into Smith. He’s down and incapacitated.
Reinforcements are arriving a, GAZ 2975, a Security Detachment, Security Patrol, RPG, Infiltrator are all suppressed, aware that Smith is bleeding badly out and we are too close for 40mm grenade use, I take our chances and order our pick up.
Luckily Smiths wounds arn’t too bad and he’ll be back.

Mission Covert : Objective Bug Out
Insertion Point will be
A Chinese J-42 Drone has been brought down in the Kashmir region. Initially recovered by local opium smugglers. GCHQ reports chatter indicating the drone has been delivered to the Khushab Labs in the Industrial Digiana, Jammu Complex. Final destination being Udhampur Airbase, Kashmir.
Intercept the vehicle and RV with REME recovery unit.
Udhampur Airbase Kashmir
Covert
An AAC Merlin brought us quietly into a small clearing but before we can get the perimeter secured we start taking fire from 2 “Watchers”. Smith takes them down from the doorway of the Helo and we make for the river and use the steep bank as cover
Water Crossing
I don’t know who got a bigger shock us or the drug smugglers busy offloading a small raft. Smith opened up on them and as they hit the deck. Moore and I double tap the Smugglers and the Lookout who wasn’t looking out it seems.
Choke Point
The river narrows quite severely. Up ahead we see more activity more Smugglers and two groups of Hired Muscle. We needed to hit them hard and fast. I had wanted to stay covert until we reach the Ind. Complex but hey ho. (The current Drone position according to the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC). Smith drops a 43mm grenade into the group, Smith and I close on the suppressed enemy. My SCAR locks open, Moore changes target ensuring the heavies keep their heads down. Seeing things going a bit pear shaped Smith drops a second grenade taking out the Smugglers. Not something we’d recommend but time is running out. Moore moves to the outskirts of the Village complex where he can get eyes on the target vehicle leaving Taylor and Smith to clear enemy stragglers. Smith goes full auto, not normally recommended, but fire superiority needs to be established and right now the mission is going tits up if we don’t get to the target quickly. Switching to semi Smith puts a pin point accurate round through the head of the truck driver. My SCAR jams again!
Industrial Complex
Industrial Digiana, Jammu Complex
The truck grinds to a halt and an explosion catches Smith and I [2 wnds each]. Smith reacts first and fires a burst at the RPG team suppressing them. Drawing my sidearm I put a head shot into the guy with the RPG as Moore continues mowing down anything that he sees. Closing on targets allows us to clear the way to the far side of the Complex where we can see the target vehicle.
Bugging Out Between us and the vehicle are some kind of Pakistani Officer a Unit of Elite Guard and another group of smugglers. Again with my pistol I snap a shot off and take down one of the Elite Guards, the other ducks down. Smith lands a 43mm at the Leaders position flinging him through the air Hollywood style. At last a burst from my SCAR ensures the Elite Unit keeps its head down and a final burst from Smith takes out the Drug Runners. Moore misses all shots. Luckily the Lookout also missed. We clamber into the vehicle and I blow on of the transports close by to cover our escape and as we put our foot down Moore finds his eye in again and takes out the Lookout.
RV REME recovery helo is on station as we arrive – Drive in – Take Off – Job Done
Kirill Belyakov PS Vet Dmitriy Kargin NPS Andrei Dudnik Squad Mission [No Worries] : Objective Escape to the Border
Pashkovo Town
“Look it’s time to get out of here we are down to 3 men, we cannot achieve anything except get ourselves killed.” “We have information valuable to the British. We have 12 hours to reach RV 426. A unit from 30 Commando IEG will meet us there.”
Moving out into the deserted streets of Pashkovo [48.89980, 130.6548] was quite un-nerving. We will hold our cover as Federal Forces until we have no other choice than to engage our fellow countrymen. The silence was soon shattered as we approached a heavily manned Roadblock. Suddenly Kiri snaps off a silenced round into the shop window to our left. The body hits the floor, Infiltrator by the markings on his uniform!
VMX3+WW Pashkovo, Jewish Autonomous Oblast, Russia
Roadblock As we close, Andrei opens up on the Perimeter Guards suppressing them. The Perimeter Guard unit engages us. We take cover as a Mil Mi 24 Gunship sweeps low over our heads. Kargin kills the other Perimeter Guards as they make a run for it. The Security Patrol mistakenly get caught in the open running to their aid. This allows me to close on the suppressed unit and finish them.
Patrolled Area We knew the area beyond would be heavily patrolled. Keeping an eye on our six Andrei fired a controlled burst, suppressing a further Infiltrator while I walk over and put a round in his head. Hearing the gunfire another 2 Security Patrols run to investigate, only to be cut down by Dmitriy. Time was wasting, defeating the Red Army wasn’t our mission, escaping with the intelwas!
Avenue I quickly dealt with the Security Detachment huddled together around a bin fire. This allowed Dmitriy and Andrei to catch up. At the end of the Avenue we could see the old industrial complex which would lead us to the River.
Factory Moving through the Factory area quickly another Security Detachment was dispatched. Things were going smoothly and resistance numbers had dropped Heavy Construction This area runs up to the Amur River bank. Two Security Detachments (SECDET) open up on us from the left flank. Andrei and Dmitriy and take out one squad each but not before a patrol can hit Dmitriy [2 wnds] even as I gun them down. We are low on ammo and the time is running out we’re dangerously close to us being stuck here.
Housing Complex More troops flood from the surrounding streets calm and precise shooting goes out the window as I spam the area with Grenades taking out a full Security Patrol, Perimeter Security Team and forcing another to take cover behind parked vehicles. Dmitriy is struggling.
Objective: The Border I finish off the final resistance and we move to the border. Two Border Patrols are between us and the Amur River and an Armoured Unit is moving into position behind us.
30 Commando IEG ORC
Suddenly Heavy Machine gun fire is flying over our heads. My final grenades find their targets as Andrei and Dmitriy open up with their final rounds. The 30 Commando IEG ORC is within sight and their support fire is pinning the Russian forces.
We clamber aboard and head for Chinese Territorial waters.
